Social commitment is, of course, fundamental to Ulrich. We have been working with the Wertachtal facilities in Kaufbeuren for several years.
We have filled and packaged some of our products - such as filling 30 ml sample bottles - in the workshops.
Because of the type and severity of their disability, people work at these facilities who cannot, cannot yet, or cannot again work in the general labor market. These are people with mental, physical, and psychological impairment.
Regarding the working area, the Wertachtal workshops in Kaufbeuren attach great importance to supporting the holistic development of employees. The daily routine is tailored to each individual's characteristics and stress levels and helps develop new life perspectives.
We are pleased that we can support the dual mission of the workshops - the individual support of people with disabilities and, simultaneously, the wide variety of products and services - through our orders.
Arbeit | Lebenshilfe Ostallgäu-Kaufbeuren e.V. (lebenshilfe-oal.de)
Unterallgäuer Werkstätte gGmbH is a recognised workshop for people with disabilities, a company of Lebenshilfe Memmingen/Unterallgäu e.V..
We have been offering vocational training and work opportunities for people with disabilities since 1974, as well as appropriate work placements.
Our workshop promotes the individual skills and talents of our employees and enables them to participate in working life.
We emphasise inclusion, participation and appreciation of each individual.
Our diverse areas of work include assembly, packaging, gardening and landscaping, as well as many other areas.
The accompanying social services of the workshops ensure comprehensive support and continuous education through specific individual support, which is intended to promote personality and independent behaviour.
We are proud to be part of the community and to contribute to the social integration of people with disabilities.
Focus on people
The Allgäuer Werkstätten were founded in 1975 as a result of a parents' initiative by local Lebenshilfe organizations. Then as now, parents and caregivers are committed to helping their children and those in their care achieve greater normality and inclusion. Integration into a work process and meaningful social contacts make this possible under the umbrella of the Allgäuer Werkstätten. Job opportunities specially adapted to people with disabilities, combined with support and education, form the basis of our work. Currently, around 660 people with disabilities are cared for by approximately 200 employees at seven facilities in Kempten and Sonthofen.
We offer people in need of support a permanent and secure job with individual support, education, and appreciation. We also integrate people in need of support into society and offer them the opportunity to participate in a regular working life. In line with our self-image and mission statement, people in need of support are at the center of everything we do.
For us, inclusion means person-centered individual participation (PIT) in working life both inside and outside the workshop. Trying out vocational training, working in the sheltered workshop, testing oneself in an external workplace, or courageously venturing into the free economy - all of this is possible with us.
Orders from the private sector, which we manufacture to the highest quality standards, help us fulfill our social responsibility. Our range of business areas offers our internal customers a wide range of opportunities to participate in working life.
